This is a case of "The Tmperor's New Clothes". Archive Simon The Sorcerer Games Discussion. Probably the only people who get close to this game are the ones who love it. THIS GAME CAN NOT COMPARE IN GREATNESS TO MONKEY ISLAND 2, APPEARED MORE THAN 1 YEAR BEFORE, AND MANY OTHERS, INCLUDING THE MANIAC MANSION, INDIANA JONES, SPACE QUEST, KING'S QUEST AND LARRY SERIES, therefor its rating of "5 out of 5" is a highly unexplained mystery to me. Some people say even the sound is a bit annoying. IT'S DRAWN LIKE A CHILDREN CARTOON, FOR GOD SAKE. Their religion was very similar to Zoroastrianism, which has, by the way, had a rebirth in the United States of America. The Magi were a priestly class of people from Persia. He was, in a sense, the Samaritan answer to Judea’s Jesus. MANY OF THE PUZZLES ARE TOTALLY RANDOM AND THE GRAPHICS ARE MEDIOCRE. And the Samaritans were falling for his sorcery. THIS GAME IS A BAD MONKEY ISLAND CLONE, IT HAS NO STORY AND THE CHARACTERS LACK ANY CHARM. There is plenty to recommend Simon The Sorcerer, the game is funny, references all sorts of high fantasy and fairy tale source material, the locations are so beautiful you wish you could go on holiday there, and the CD 32 version has speech with real, famous actors. I can't believe nobody said this on 7 pages of a topic which expanded through 3 years: It's the same thing with music it's the quality that matters, not the year when it was made. When I buy games, I don't look at their age.

While Abandonia is an abandonware site, I think it can do good work at educating the newer generations if it doesn't limit itself too severly. A good review of a classic game will surely attract buyers.
They're excellent for those who missed the golden age of gaming and need guidance to the greatest titles. Is it just me or does that sound a bit suspicious? What other way are we talking about? Surely not downloading?Īnyway, I'm glad to see reviews of games that are still sold.
